I was going tru some of the organic question and this is getting on my nerve. addition of Br2 to the alkene is Anti addtion. right?
but in kaplan question it says that addition is anti and then both Br2 are on one side and the other two groups are in other side(cH2, C2H5)...
can anyone help me out?

Hey Hakim abolghaseme Ferdowsi😉
The addition of Br2 is anti, but it does not matter if you right both of them on the same side if you are just writting the lews structure using lines on the paper, because those structures do not show the stereochemistry. Let me know the page number if you want. I wanna see the structure.

It's anti when you look at the stereochemistry -- one would be R and one would be S. If you convert it to fisher projection it might be easier to notice, but not necessary once you get comfortable with configuration and orientations.

side point: Br2 added in H2O will add an OH to more substit, and a Br to less substit, while Br2 in CCl4 adds 2 Br anti.
