I think it's more a matter of, is there anything better to memorize? If you've found yourself having problems understanding electrophilic addition and have the time to - then why not?

If your not fortunate enough to have already remembered it from Orgo (like me, phew), I'd recommend doing so. It's a nice thing to know when asked about them - and they ARE a fundamental organic reaction. 👍
