Hey guys, I just want to know your opinion on taking Organic I and II during the summer. The professors I am planning on taking are really good, and have been recommended to me by both students and faculty. Do pharmacy schools look down upon taking OChem in the summer?

Depends where you take it from, like a cc or something. Where are you takin it? I took ochem at UCR over this past summer and it was pretty easy. It helped me alot with my pcat too.

I don't see why they would - it's not like summer classes are any easier, it's the same amount of material - just learned at a faster pace.

I think that if you do well in it, it would actually look pretty good as it would show that you are able to handle a large amount of material at a quick pace.

I am planning on taking it at UTC (University of Tennessee-Chattanooga). It is either take Organic I and II in the summer or take anatomy because I do not want to take both of them at the same time.

should be fine, dude, dont worry bout it. id say take ochem over the summer, cuz then u can devote all ur time to that one class, but its up to u, either anat or ochem over the summer should be fine

Think about it, if you take Ochem over the summer, its the only class you have to worry about. You wont have to study for organic while studying for other classes, and believe me, it makes it soooo much better. I took it over the summer and got an A in both ochem 1 and 2. The people that took it throughout the year with the rest of their classes struggled because of the workload. I would definitely recommend taking it over the summer. Its rough (lots of material in very little time...its fast and long), but its worth it.
