Sorry if this is a repeat - I searched and only found something from 2006...

Anyway - just curious if any of you guys use organizational software. Usually I stick to google calendar and paper to-do lists, but I recently found this: https://www.evernote.com/about/home.php and think it's awesome!

And for med students, is there anything that helps you stay on top of things?

I pretty much stick to a paper calendar and set many many alarms on my cell phone haha. I've toyed with iCal and Google Calendar, but I guess I like to physically write things down...
I'm going to check out the link though!

haha i didnt know other people used cell phone alarms ...

haha every night I set a half dozen alarms for the next day...it keeps me on track!

I love Evernote! I have it on both my computer and phone, and my notes sync back and forth from one to the other. Other than that, I use an old-school paper planner to write down all of my assignments, and I have files on my computer and in my desk for keeping applications and premed info.

What I really need is a tool that keeps me from browsing the internet and Facebook all the time though -_- I feel like that would be the most helpful program for me, lol

calendar for schedule.
astrid/google tasks for to-do.

Pen and calendar for me. I still live in ancient times. 🙁

I was using google calendar and then one day I accidentally unsubscribed to my academic calender. That threw my entire universe out of whack for a while.

In another thread someone was talking about a program that blocked certain websites (you designate....I think?). Either that or it just blocks the internet or something while you are studying. I can't really remember, but I do remember thinking that would be really really good for me. Does anyone know what that is?

There's an app called SelfControl that blocks certain websites (that you designate) for a specific period of time (up to 24 hours, I think?). I use it occasionally, particularly during finals time when I'd rather be on facebook than writing papers.
