with K2Cr2O7/H+ will the product be a carboxylic acid instead of pentane??
because i know that if it was ethane...it will be oxidized to carboxylic acid..

It doesn't matter how many carbons. K2Cr2O7 is such a strong oxidizing agent it turns it into a carboxylic acid no matter what the carbon length.
