Not sure if this belongs here,

but i had a question about H-NMR.

When provided with a certain that has multiple non equivalent protons, and also provided a chart with basic magnetic frequencies (ie RCH3, RCH2R, etc) what is the best way to calculate chemical shift of the protons in the molecule that perhaps deviate from the given table.

Any tips would really be appreciated.

estimate ... there must be some leneancy on the mark scheme -

As far as I know you can just estimate. eg adding something electronegative shifts the peak downfield.

If you look on the net there are a ton of NMR practice problems for ochem....its the only way to learn NMR/IR/Mass spec
