Orgo in med school - can I sell my old orgo books now?

The title says it all. I'm selling some old books before med school, and I was wondering whether I'll ever use my orgo books again, maybe as an occasional reference in biochemistry. They're by Wade, by the way, so they're pretty good books, but I don't want to drag them to med school if they'll be completely useless.

If you don't absolutely love organic chemistry and want to use your O-chem books as bedtime reading, sell them. There an abundance of review books available specifically for the material you will need to learn in medical school and it's pretty unlikely you'll find yourself referring to your o-chem textbooks.

I kept my biochemistry, immunology, and human physiology textbooks from undergrad, but really only because they were great books.

Sell them, burn them, throw em off a bridge, rip them up and use them as lining for the cage of that rabbit in your avatar. It's bye-bye organic chemistry once you get into med school.

Sell them now while they are worth something. You will not need to refer to these books as all the material you are expected to learn is laid out quite clearly.

If for some reason you truly wanted to refer to a book, buy one that is one edition out of date (by that time it will probably be the book you are selling now haha) for pennies. Sell book now for hundreds, buy same book in two years if you really want to for $10. That said, there will be no reason to buy one.

I only kept mine, because a new edition is in so mine would only sell for about $10. I keep it as my standard coffee table reading material.

Yeah I had a couple that I kept for the same reason. No point to sell it for $10 when shipping is going to cost you 9.50. Otherwise, ditch 'em.

Sell them immediately. As soon as a new edition comes out, they're worthless for you.

Just a tip- Amazon has this service that you can sell your books to a third party for slightly to much less of what you could sell them yourself. However, you can pack them all in one box, ship them out to them for free and you get the money as a credit to use on amazon. I did it this way and cashed in about $500. I could definitely have made more, but it was not worth the hassle of selling them individually.

Sell them ASAP. I missed out on my chance to do so because all my books are outdated now. They are just sitting out on my bookshelf, collecting dust. To be honest I have actually looked in my general biology book for genetics stuff, but for the most part they are just sitting there and hopefully making me look intelligent. 😀

I got my Wade copy for $12 of amazon, 6th Edition , so there is no point in selling it.

And also, all the late nights we spent together in the library... aww memories...Would be rude to just leave now...after all that we had...

If you buy a roll of bubble wrap and big manila envelopes, all you have to do is list all your books and periodically take them to the post office to mail them as media mail. You're giving up a big cut of the profits to let Amazon do the work for you. Just a though.
