It gives 2 compounds: p-nitroaniline and o-nitroaniline and asks what methods are used for the separation of these two isomers.
The correct answer is column chromatography and crystallization.
How does column chromatography separate the two compounds? I thought it only separates based on different sizes or polarity.
Why does crystallization only crystallize the para?

Destroyer is correct on this one. You need to recrystallize to get the melting point. Para form is symmetrical unlike the ortho form. Due to symmetry it will have a higher melting point because it will fit into a crystal easier.
