Orgo reactions on OAT

So I take my OAT in one week and I am absolutely FREAKING out about the orgo section...the way that Kaplan words their questions confuses me so much.

For those of you that have taken it recently, was it mainly reactions? Is it imperative to know the mechanisms?

I've also never done NMR or IR spectroscopy without having a handout to help me...how do you recommend studying for the NMR portion?

It would help to know the mechanism but it's sufficient to just memorize the patterns between the reactants and products. There was probably like 1 or 2 nmr questions. I wouldn't stress about the spectroscopy questions since there's no or very very few of them
