I have two questions, both of which may be seemingly obvious

1. What do you wear to an open house/information session to a school you have already been accepted to? I was thinking just regular street clothes, but am I wrong?

2. Is there any negotiating tuition prices for PT schools (especially private schools)? I know with law schools it is very common since many people don't have jobs coming out of school, but I am not sure if the same goes for PT students. Any thoughts?

Thanks everyone!

1. I'd assume casual would be fine.

2. No. However, you can make a needs based claim to financial aide to see if they'll bite. If they do, you may be offered a needs based scholarship from the school itself.

1. Casual would fine. Just avoid the ripped jeans or what not 🙂

2. I've never heard of anyone being able to negotiate tuition. There are things you can do to help out financially though.
-Apply for work study. Being employed with the program itself is great because they understand your schedule and will work around it.
-Apply for departmental scholarships. You'll only be "competing" with those in the program, so odds of you getting a scholarship are much higher than those larger databases.
-Apply for financial aid early so you can take out Perkins loans. As long as you are intending to work full time for 5 years as a health professional, you can defer Perkins loans and they will be forgiven.
-Do well in your classes and you can apply for TA or tutoring positions for some extra cash. In turn, it will help you solidify your knowledge on the topic.

Thank you! You are both very helpful. Do you know how early you need to apply for financial aid to be able to take out Perkins loans?
