Original 6?

I tried searching for this, but I couldn't find it. What are the "original 6" osteopathic medical schools?

I have talked to a number of people that said only to apply to these, but it seems like to me newer schools aren't bad. Is there a time estimate for established schools?

There's always merit to history and the original schools have certainly withstood the test of time. That being said, its worth your time to look into the new schools. Go where you find the best fit and are accepted - no use going to an 'original 6' if you're going to be absolutely miserable there for a minimum of 2 years before clerkships.
