If any of you are unsure about OFP, the 1 year AEGD at A.T Still has a fantastic OFP attending and you do a lot of it. Lectures, diagnosis, as well as splints, needling, and even more invasive TMD treatments. If you're on the fence, this is a good way of making sure this is what you want. If you're sure, anywhere that Dr. Richard Cohen is at, you'll become one of the best.
Thank you for replying. I wanted to know what is the future of orofacial pain resident- academics or clinical? I'm a foreign-trained dentist after doing this program will I be able to work

hello! did you find an answer to that? Can we practice in a hospital setting after orofacial pain residency. I am a foreign trained dentist and looking forward to applying for orofacial pain and oral medicine residencies.

There is definitely scope of the speciality and there are opportunities depending on where you are and what you want to do. I think it will mostly be an academic career but you can do faculty practice and treat patients at the dental school where you will also be teaching and doing research. There are also a few specialist Orofacial Clinics in the US.
There are licensing opportunities too, but vary per state. Hope that helps.
