hey everyone! I first considered having surgery done to my eyes, PRK was my most likely choice. But after deep research and some stories here I backed out. Went for Ortho K, went in about 2 weeks ago and had my eyes measured and checked, got my night time lenses 5 days ago. The lenses used for Ortho K are RGP lenses, they were uncomfortable at first, now, I can cope with them and when I close my eyes to sleep, I even forget I'm wearing them. I'm the kind of person that was just unable to take a nap with the extended wear soft lenses because they were too uncomfortable for sleeping with.

Today, I see 20/15, which is really awesome, just 5 days! and I'm really excited.

I do have a question for the experts here though, although I can see quite well. I still have trouble with bright objects, like tail lights and traffic lights at night, they always have this big glow surrounding them, halos I guess. My doctor says this is something that will eventually fix itself, but how long does this usually take, because I have no confidence driving at night at the moment, what seems to happen is that all these lights and halos flood my field of vision to the point where I am unable to see 20 feet in front of me on the road. Thank you

It also may not correct itself. Understand that you are smashing your corneas so to speak. Think about what kind of optics you can get from a lens shaped like a bottle cap.

Not that there is anything wrong with ortho-K. Just need to be realistic.

thank you for your reply, the problem is, my night vision is worse than it use to be without correction, and it's not only night vision, it's also when using a computer, or looking at any object that can reflect light or brightness. I'm gonna hope things get a little better because I really want this thing to work.

Careful about medical advice on these forums...! Not that I'm contesting your expertise docwatson, but it's part of the disclaimer at the bottom of the forum: "Not for medical advice."
