This is probably a really dumb question, but I'm gonna ask it anyway. When someone says "orthopedics" or "ortho" are they automatically talking about orthopedic surgeons or are there other types of orthopedic physicians? 😵
PT is not a physician specialty, it is its own career requiring completely different training (no medical school involved). Sort of like optometry (not a physician) vs ophthalmologist (physician).
Ortho and PM&R = surgical and non-surgical physicians, respectively
