I have recently been overwhelmed by information from multiple orthopedic residency programs. For those that are in a residency program how did you choose between computer-based vs. traditional classroom programs. Any other general information would be helpful as well.

I am also interested in hearing different opinions on the Evidence in Motion program. Has anyone done the St. Augustine residency?

Thanks.

AJ,
I'll bite since no one else has offered up. I chose a hybrid program as it allowed me to maintain my current employment. Ideally, if you're a new grad (and if I were to do it again), I'd go with a traditional program if you are able. Why? Full immersion with like residents in the same boat as you right out of grad school and still in the school mentality. For me, after being out for a couple years, a hybrid program suited me best for where I am in life right now. My program consists of on-line classes, hands-on classes, and on-line classes for the hands-on classes, as well as mentor hours that I arrange. My program is a bit longer than your traditional residency, but I'm pleased with it. You can PM me if you want more info. I do recommend residency though. As a new grad, I thought I knew it all; there is so much more out there that is clinically relevant that time just does not allow to be taught in grad school!
