What are these lists? Are these places where you've received interview invitations?

FYI Mercy Memorial Monroe is now known as ProMedica Monroe and have not sent out invites yet.

I forgot about the name change. I just found that out yesterday. They have sent out invites though! I just received one.
Sorry, clarification, coordinator said no interviews till Octoberish not no invites.

The name change is significant in that we get to rotate at ProMedica Toledo which fills in some pathology gaps.

You are in EM ? I thought you were doing another speciality

EM1 here at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital, formerly Mercy Memorial. Now that we are part of Promedica, we will be rotating at Promedica Toledo Hospital, a 700-bed level 1 trauma center. Currently we are doing MICU and pediatric EM there. Starting 2nd year the plan is to do some of our ED shifts every month at Toledo. Trauma months will be in Toledo and R. Adams Cowley shock trauma. Neuro ICU is also being discussed at Toledo. I am also pushing for Promedica Air and Mobile flights during EMS month.

Dr. Caloia is our young, energetic program director. She is pretty open to suggestion on our curriculum going forward.

geez you just added like 5 at once to the list lol

Update for ProMedica Monroe, talked to our coordinator yesterday and we have extended all our interview invitations. That being said there are always cancellations, especially as the season goes on. So if you are interested in the program make yourself known and you might snag one of the cancellations.

Anyone know if aoa EM is dooable with a 422 level 1? Do most have a minimum?

I'm a second year EM resident and matched by number 1. My step 1 score was 445. Good luck!

Unfortunately I know our program had a cutoff this year, somewhere around 450. (don't get me started on the fallacy of using comlex scores as cutoffs)

Edit: correction on score cutoff

Anyone have any advice on when to be concerned about the amount of interview invites? I have 4 at this point and have applied VERY broadly. Still have 3 auditions left. Off of the list posted, I have 3 invites; 1 other from an audition site not posted that I liked a lot.

Level 1 475-499 range, Level 2 500-525 range, passed PE, 1 SLOE, 2 LORs from non-EM docs, no red flags, good feedback from rotations, good amount volunteer/work/research (no pubs), applied AOA only on July 16th.

Same boat here. 4 EM interviews, three which will be places I either have rotated at or will rotate at. Level 1 and 2 are 560+ and 570+ respectively. 35 places applied to. No other red flags.

Seems like folks with 4+ interviews across the board have invites mostly from places they have/are auditioning at with a couple of extras thrown in.

Thanks for the update. Any indication the total number of invites extended from them this year? According to AOA Opportunities ~80 last year.

I have 3 interviews right now. Went on one last week. Haven't officially heard from the 4 places I rotated yet, one of which is my base. Level 1 540+ and Level 2 610+. Applied to 21 programs. Still waiting on my 2 EM letters to be uploaded.
Mount Siani?

So I think I might've messed up my application letters a little bit. I have two strong non EM letters I attached to all the DO applications, thinking it would make my application complete sooner. This means I can only have two EM SLOE's attached to my app. I have one SLOE from an dually accredited program and another SLOE from a strong MD program. However, I am currently rotating at a well known DO program. Should I wait for the DO SLOE and turn that in as my last letter or should I just use an MD SLOE. I'm wondering if this may be holding back some potential interviews for me.

In summary, which is better:

1) 2 non EM LOR's + dually accredited SLOE + MD SLOE (can do this now)

or

2) 2 non EM LOR's + dually accredited SLOE + competitive DO SLOE (will have to wait 4 more weeks at least for this)

About the same number of interviews (~80) but sent out a lot more invites than that to get the interview slots filled.

I would go ahead and send out what you have now since most interview invites are going out now or have already gone out.

It's a little relieving to see that most of us are on similar pages as far as # of interview invites so far. I applied to 23 and received 4 invites, and I've rotated at one of them.

Btw, I had a question for those of you that got invites from Sparrow at Lansing, MI. They emailed me notifying I was invited, but did not include any information on how to schedule the interview, who to contact, etc. Could anyone enlighten me on what's going on with Sparrow?

Agreed! I was hoping I wasn't the only one with just a few. Although I only applied to 12 programs.

Has anyone gotten an invite from UPMC Hamot? I know their Neurology program has already sent out interviews.

Another program pulled out of the match today. Carilion's merging their AOA program with their ACGME one. They will increase the spots in the ACGME program by 4. They encourage USMLE Step 1 and 2 but will consider COMLEX this year > 600.

That's another 4 spots down. Seems like the EM match gets more and more competitive as the weeks go by.

That's a dirty move by that program. I hope they are willing to take some DOs with comlex only this cycle to be fair.

I too applied to ~15 DO programs and to date only received 3 interviews (Arrowhead, St. Barnabus, and Kent). Just sent in 2 SLOE's this week from MD programs (I think I did well, who knows haha), right around 640 on both step 1 and 2, decent clerkship grades (mix of P, HP, H).

Thinking the programs are giving auditioning students first dibs (as it should be) and everyone else in the pecking order they choose. Its a long interview season, thinking its still too early to get worked up but thats just my opinion, truly wishing everyone the best of luck this year 🙂

It's never too early to get worked up! This is the most hectic process of my adult life I'm pretty sure! Haha.

Applied 27 DO, 63 ACGME- 7 interviews DO and 1 MD so far. Below avg grades, bottom 25% of preclinical class rank, top 5% clinical rank, above average COMLEX and USMLE. 1 non EM doc letter, 1 EM doc letter, 1 SLOE and 1 more on the way.

Damn some of you are crushing it! Just curious for the folks with 10+ interviews, how many are you actually planning to attend and are you also applying ACGME?

Beat me to it! 😉

Hahaha by 1 minute! Its kind of ridiculous how excited I get when I can be the first to post an interview invite. I need to pick up some more shifts or something!

On another note, what do people wear to the night before dinners? Business casual?

For Mount Sinai, I know it's possible to interview, but l is it possible to match without rotating there?
