Two Questions...

1) Do osteopathic PDs look at USMLE scores when applying for osteopathic programs?

2) What is the COMLEX equivalent to a 220 on the USMLE? In other words, what is the "magic number" to be considered for the more competitive specialties in the osteopathic match?

For COMLEX, the most competitive score is above a 650 from what i read on some sites. that's for Level 1

1 No

2 That's a hard one. Most of the PD's I meet say they just want you to pass and prefer to judge you based on your rotation with them. Those that do look at boards seem to prefer to see the percentage next to your score. I don't really think their is a "magic' number unfortunately. I would think above 600 would allow you to be competitive for most specs. However I don't think the 500-600 range will eliminate you either esp. if you have a strong rotation with the program. In the DO residencies, it is all about your rotation, at least that was my experience.

Good luck. Board scores should be coming for you guys right when you start rotations in August.

Wow, above a 650!!!

My stats: top 15% of my class--just got that stat from the school, so not sure what is was when i applied for residency. Also 595 on Step 1 (top 10%) and 620 on Step 2 top 6%, so I think above 650 is a pretty high score, unless they changed something recently!!
