Hello,

Interview season for osteopathic schools is almost upon us, and I was wondering if any of the current orthopedic residents had any advice. Did anyone use any specific books or resources to prep for interviews? Was there anything that surprised you during your interviews? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

A group of current residents are actually building a website directed at students interested in matching into orthopedics and I recently posted on this topic after our interview day!

The interview is a unique social interaction. It's predictable but since so few people adequately prepare, it's pretty easy to stand out. So, if you play your cards right, your interview can really bump your application to the top.

For ortho in particular, remember that the candidate sitting to your right and left have a high likelihood of being "hardworking, smart, diligent, high level athlete, etc". Be prepared to read some XR's (ex, ankles, hips, distal radius, ped supracondylars)
