This may be a silly and innocent question...

is there a ranking of Osteopathic schools similar to US News? or perhaps just a SDN ranking?
I've gotten the feeling that there are more coveted schools, such as NYCOM, TUCOM, and WesternCOM as opposed to LECOM. This seems to be mostly location based. However, for example, would A.T Still in MO be more prestigious or give more opportunities in residency as it was first? I'm trying to factor in all considerations when I choose which I should apply to.

try to do a search on the words/combination of DO, osteopathic, ranking, rank and such. you should see a few results.

I guess it also may depend on what you want to do...I know that if you want to do primary care, there are a couple of DO schools that are actually ranked by usnews in primary care (I think OK State and Mich St...there may be another). Otherwise it is really location based I would think.

My advice is to attend a school at which there are good affiliations for your 3rd and 4th year rotations. I say this because there are more DO students than there are DO residencies, and you may end up doing an MD residency somewhere. The residency location is where you should spend some time during your 3rd and 4th year.

Here in the Chicagoland area, it seems that CCOM has a pretty strong showing in the local hospitals. I gotta go with CCOM in having pretty good credibility
