Anyone else on here apply to the Bridge program this year?

My friend did. He just interviewed last Friday.

My good friend interviewed last Tuesday.

I did last Thursday, and I was just wondering if anyone else did, and what their feelings were after the interview. I thought my interview went really well, so I suppose I just wanted to gauge others feelings about their chances of being accepted.

I'm not sure what the magic formula for an interview with the Bridge program is but the program requires an overall and min. science gpa of 2.5 and a min MCAT average of 5. I'm not really big on posting my exact numbers but my overall and science undergrad gpa were nearly a 3.0 and my MCAT average is nearly a 9 and I got an interview for the Bridge program. I am an in state student, but I'm not really all that sure how much that even factors into the equation. That being said, from just my own personal understanding and my own personal experience with your gpa alone you should be "competitive" enough for them to really take a look at your app just as long as you did fairly well on the MCAT. 🙂

On a side note: *sigh* I'm trying to keep from standing on sharp objects over this...eh well at least I'll be out of my misery one way or the other by the end of this coming week. I had really hoped to get a response from others who applied and interviewed for the program this year, but maybe they just aren't on this site.

can you fill me in on what this program is?

Good link, OSU. Interesting program though. So once you are into this program are you gauranteed full acceptance to OSU-COM (if you pass w/ 85%)? Is this just like a decellerated curriculum that will allow completion in 5 years total? Thanks.

MS-I year is split over the first 2 years.

You aren't considered an actual medical student until the 2nd year, but you will be taking half the load of all other medical students that year (unless you make lower than an 85 in a course during your 1st year----you will be retaking the course if you do.)

Anybody hear anything? Isn't it about that time?

I haven't heard anything yet. They said we should hear something in two weeks, that will be tomorrow. I really just want to know...If any of you who said that their friend interviewed would post when they find out I would love it. *sigh* I'll go back to work now, and pretend that I'm not worried about this.

Everyone should hear by this Friday.

My friend was on the last day of interviews, and they told him he'd hear from them Friday.

My friend interviewed a couple of weeks ago. She called the school and was told the committee was meeting late this week and people would get their letters next week.

I called this morning and the admissions dept. said they mailed the letters out today.

My good friend got an acceptance via UPS today. She called Sarah in admissons this morning and was told that correspondence would be mailed out today, then she received her acceptance around noon. I'm so happy for her! So, anyone else get accepted?

Has anyone else heard anything? Also, does anyone know why OSU used UPS this time instead of FedEx?

Nope heard NOTHING! NADA! Called Sarah today and she sounded a little perturbed but told me that correspondence was mailed yesterday (05/04/06). I hope this isn't a bad sign; but from what I've read on here thus far, the later the letter the more likely it comes USPS and not UPS....I'm at work right now and I've been calling home like every 30 mins trying to see if my siblings are home and if they can check the mail for me... :scared: My fingers will be crossed until I hear one way or the other.

I still have not heard anything either. They interviewed 30 people for 8 slots so 1 down 7 left to go.

They ship regular acceptance packages regular Fedex, not overnight. Mine took 3 days to make it from Tulsa to Stillwater. Don't despair if you haven't gotten it yet. It'll be Monday.
