Its Robert, your buddy from the interview on Saturday. I was accepted as well so it looks like I'll be joining you for the next four years. 👍 Or should it be more like 😱 Well either way, congrats man, good ****, (apparently from the asterisks, you arent aloud to cus on this site but oh well) and I'm sure I'll be talking to you sooner than later.

danieldoc, I am from Pickerington, Ohio which is a sub-urb of Columbus located about 10 miles Southeast of the city limits. It takes me roughly 20-30 mins to get to the dental school from my house if you are infact an out-of-stater and not familiar with the Columbus area. Good Luck with the rest of the interview process!

I'm from Ashland Ohio. About an hour north of Columbus. Im pumped to be starting at OSU.....its been such a better year than last year...

Im not sure about this but I asked Sunny about how many people they had accepted in and out of state so far (this was on Saturday Jan 7 interview date) and she had told me that roughly 25 in and 25 out of state applicants were already accepted at that point. I know that the numbers usually break down to about 20 out of state students and 80 in state students give or take a few from each group that get in. So I wouldnt get too down about you not getting into OSU because there out of state quota has most likely been met already. You guys have impecable stats, so I wouldnt worry too much about getting in elsewhere. Good luck!

if you guys don't mind (the ones who got accepted into OSU) could you post your DAT scores and GPA's so I can have an idea of getting into OSU?

Yes, that is basically what the email they sent me said. At frist I just saw the denial on AADSAS, but today I received an email explaining in the nicest way possible that out of state seats are filled. Thanks for the encouragement. Congrats on OSU and have fun.

Thanks for the encouragment man. Unfortunately, I recieved a rejection email yesterday...I'm salty as hell. I even did the Summer Dental Prep program at OSU and I guess still didn't help. I'll have to try again next cycle.
I can't decided between Case and OSU.. and advice!?? I am from Cleveland, and case has much better Clinics and dentsims... but OSU is sooooo much cheaper... I was very impressed with both staffs and interviews! any help would be great!

Hows parking at OSU? Any secrets to share?
Where did you find your Apartment at? I current live at The Meridian on West 5th, really nice and a pretty good deal for 2 bedroom, single is a little steep. Looking for a condo i think, i've already spent 4yrs in apartment rent in Columbus, i dont really want to spend 4yr more.
Parking C pass is pretty efficent for $180/yr there is parking about 50ft from the dental school. Another Option is Parking Garage Pass which is given on a lottery bases and cost about $500+ dollars.

I'm thinking about what to do also. For those who are already out there, I'd also like to know about good places to stay. I'd like to get into a condo, but I'm also considering rent, if they have some reasonable places for under $600/mo. Also, is anybody thinking of doing the PhD combined degree?

I lived on campus, off high street, and with family the past three years at OSU. Living off campus is a little cheaper but it honestly gets scary. Stay away from south campus, ie past the South Campus Gateway. North Campus is pretty nice, but if you want to feel completely safe i would live in campus dorms . There are also some family oriented living called Buckeye Village. If all of the previous areas are walking distance to campus. These next involve driving to school and parking on either West Campus or C-Parking. I personally did West Campus Parking about 65 dollars, and the buses drop you right off in front of Postle Hall! West of OSU are some NICER condos and apts. Jefferson commons is a little expensive but better housing. Condos around West Campus and the Upper Arlington area are more expensive to buy,but the turn around time to sell is fast, so you could sell very easily when done with dental school. You can also rent some of these condos. Bethle Rd. has alot of condos and apts. but it is about a 10-15 minute drive to campus. Hope this helps. let me know if any more ?'s

I'm moving to Gahanna, which is by Easton Mall and about 15-20 min from OSU. It's really nice. My 2 br place is $529/month and includes water.
They are pet-friendly, there's a pool, small fitness center, tanning salon(?) and laundry on-site. Love it!

Anyway, its a nice place. Moving in 2 weeks! I'm done with Kent State University!!!
