I was recently put in the "alternate pool" at OSU after what I thought was a good interview. Oh well. They told us that we could be accepted, deferred or rejected. I was wondering if their is a difference between the "alternate pool" and "deferred" or if it's just one in the same? My letter says,
"Because of the number of highly qualified applicants, we have decided to delay our final decision on your application until other candidates have been considered. You have been placed in our alternate pool, and we willl notify you in writing once a final decision has been made."

Did anyone else receive this letter? Do many people get pulled from the alternate pool at OSU because I would love to go there? Any input is appreciated.😀

I got the same letter, and my friend last year got the same letter, but had a p.s. at the bottom saying "we consider you to be an excellent applicant, blah blah blah expect an admission offer in several months blah blah blah." I don't know if they're doing that this year.
