I feel remiss in not having said this formally before now. I just wanted to say a quick thank you to all the members who post in this forum for allowing me, as a patient, to not only visit and read these forums, but to also have the pleasure of posting within my limitations and engaging in some very interesting (and enlightening!) discussions over the past 5 years. I consider it a great privilege that I have been allowed some small presence here, and for that I am truly grateful.

Hi Ceke2002, thanks to you for your above note! It doesn't feel right that no one has responded to your post yet, so allow me to be the first on this thread to express my gratitude to you and other patients for enriching this forum with your own experiences.

You're quite welcome! I know these forums are supposed to be for "student doctors" but I always find it helpful and enlightening when patients can contribute meaningfully to our discussions, especially as it's so easy for us to forget what it's like on the other side of the exam room door.

For psych specifically, there are a lot more patients than doctors, and we can certainly use your help in advocacy for mental health issues, educating your friends and family, and helping to relieve the stigma.

I've enjoyed many of your thoughtful replies here over the years.

Thanks guys, you've all been great to talk to - and don't worry I'll try not to set off an epidemic (maybe I should have put 'Prisoner Zero' and outed myself as a Whovian) 😉
