OT: Fitocracy! Let's get in shape.

So there's an SDN Fitocracy group, owned by dsmoody (where is that guy?), that used to be pretty active and competitive. Yesterday I literally had to go out and buy fat pants for work, so I decided that enough is enough and today is the first day of eating well and working out (I worked out this morning and kind of want to die, haha). I thought it would be fun and motivating to have others along, so who's with me?

I'm labvet2013 on Fitocracy. We can try to revive the old SDN group, as I think there were other moderators/owners besides dsmoody. But if not, we can start a new one. Anyone down?

I'm in moderate shape - 6 weeks into Couch 2 5k and 9 weeks into Stronglifts 5x5. Count me in! I've been logging my weight lifting on Fitocracy for awhile now, but not my runs cause they don't seem to account for many points on that site. I'm Coquette87. 🙂
 
I log regularly under Trilt over there. 🙂 SDN group was/is called "SDN Pre-Vet" if you just search for that, but it is pretty darn quiet and a lot of the members are gone from the forums now.

I'd be in! I don't post much on SDN any more - darn work! 😛 Training for a marathon in October and I'm struggling with motivation. I'd love to participate if that's OK.
 
I remembered my log in!! And posted a comment in the SDN group. Is it worth starting a new one so we have active mods?
 
I was just thinking of making one the other day! I definitely want to participate! I was always very active my entire life until college (I used to swim competitively so I could be working out up to 6 hours a day sometimes) but at college (just finished my freshman year) I mostly stopped since I started having health problems as well as other issues and I haven't gained much weight (3 pounds) but I definitely feel super out of shape!
 
All fitness levels are invited, of course! You'll just make me feel bad 😉. But that would be great motivation!

I suppose we should start a new group, since the owner of the original one has been absent from the boards for a long time. I don't mind starting a new group, I'll post it here once I've done it. 🙂

Edited: Well, that was easy! The group is called SDN Fitness, and here's the link. Join Fitocracy, then join the group. Also, who else wants to be a moderator?
 
I'll definitely join when I get home! Motivation is needed and this may help. :laugh:
 
I've never done Fitocracy so I'm not sure how it works, but I could definitely use the extra motivation especially once school starts. I'll join the group when I get home tonight!
 
Just joined and added a work out. A baby work out, but one none the less.
 
Yes! I'd be in, I think. I've never been this out of shape in my life.
 
Now, I've never really used fitocracy before. Is there a place on there where you can get it to create work outs for you? My bumbling around doing whatever thing I can think of probably is not going to evenly distribute my workout.
 
Ahhhh!!! I love the picture! It's so cute haha I just joined and will be adding my workout when I go to the gym tonight.

I would like to join. I am trying to strive for 6 pack abs if possible. So worth a try to get some motivation.
 
I think Dsmoody gave me some admin powers in the old group, so I can start running challenges is you want. I could use the extra motivation. I've been doing some exercising but not really logging anything since it hasn't been very active. Or I can join the new group too.

I started a new one because dsmoody disappeared and I thought the owner of the group should be somewhat active. Otherwise I don't care. I can make you admin of the new group for running challenges.

Meh, doesn't matter to me either. Excited for the new group though! I'm doing the Savage Race in September with a bunch of classmates and need to get my butt in car. Not so worried about the obstacles...more worried about the running at this point.
 
I joined, but I always forget to log on and log my workouts. Also I haven't been able to work out for a couple weeks, and it may be a couple more until I get started back up.
 
Officially signed up and joined! There's a cardio type room in the building I'm moving into, so this should help get me down there.

Started the morning by tracking my first workout on there. You're damn right I'm level 2 now 😎

Just joined! I'm starting ROTC in about a month so I should probably start getting into a little bit of better shape.

When you log your workouts, it adds them to the group, too. So if you joined the challenge, any workouts you add normally will automatically get counted for the challenge. I hope that makes sense.
