Hi all. I'm a future OT student planning to apply to a few schools in California this fall. I would really like to apply this fall so that I can hopefully start as an OT student in 2012.

I will also be taking the GRE in July (and the revised version in or after Aug, if necessary). My overall gpa was around 3.3 and I have around 175-200 hrs of volunteer/observing/shadowing an OT at a hospital rehab. I have additional volunteer hours outside of the OT field...

What other programs CAN I apply to this fall w/ very general prereq classes/in progress grades? I dont think I'll have time to take additional classes ...help?

Hi all. I'm a future OT student planning to apply to a few schools in California (USC, Loma linda, Dominguez hills) this fall. I have a BA from UC Berkeley but I'm still finishing up prereqs since I was nowhere near the science field when I was at Cal. I completed psych (C), sociology (B-), and 2 semesters of english/writing (B,B+) at Cal. Completed stats (B) at a community college. I will be taking Anat+lab and Devlpmental psych in the summer and Physio+lab and Abnormal psych in the fall (meaning Physio and Ab psych grades will be in progress). Considering retaking psych for a better grade in the fall as well. I will also be taking the GRE in July (and the revised version in or after Aug, if necessary). Are you trying to stay in Socal? You listed the schools in the LA area, but there is the Univ. of St. Augustine in SD, and then the Bay Area schools (SJSU, Samuel Merritt, and Dominican). Some deadlines are later than others, USC early decision deadline was 11/30 for the entering class and 1/1 final deadline. SJSU has a rolling admissions that starts in October and goes until mid April, but you could turn in your application after your fall grades were in and still be okay with courses in progress in the Spring, conditional acceptances are not uncommon. Samuel Merritt and Loma Linda have interviews for sure so you would want to turn your applications before the end of November. CSUDH starts in Spring semesters, so their deadlines might be a lot earlier. You can apply to all of the California schools with classes in progress, a few of the schools told me that they typically like to see Anatomy and Physio completed rather than the Psych courses, but won't rule you out if they are in progress

I would just like to stay in California- Norcal and Socal are both great. Anyone happen to know much about the CSUDH program (difficulty in getting in, passing rate of NBCOT license exam, average salary, etc?) Thanks
