I am looking for some insight on salary negotiations. I am an OT working in an outpaitent ortho setting. Not too long ago I found out my PT co-worker makes about 7k more than me and we have the same years of experience. I negotiated a little more for my salary when I hired on and the PT did not negotiate, their initial offer from the company was just significantly (7k) higher. We both reimburse for the same rates (e.g. my therapeutic exercise reimburses for the same rate my manual therapy reimburses for the same rate). How should I approach this with my manager?
