OT: SDN Technical question.. the back key

Ok, you guys convinced me to go check out the pre-allo forum and I was pretty much bored.

BUT, I did find out something that perplexes me. I have never been able to use the "back" on my browser when I open a thread on the pre-vet forum. For some reason it just doesn't work. I have always had to just go back to the bookmarked page (I use IE 8.0).

Yet, on the pre-allo forum the back key works just fine. How is this possible? What does my computer have against vet students?

One other piece of information, at the top of the page (whenever I load the pre-vet forum) there is a "webpage cannot be found" message where there should be an advertisement. The rest of the page loads fine. On the pre-allo forum the advertisement loads fine.

So, who is the advertiser that is screwing me? And how can I fix this problem? Anyone have any thoughts? Anyone else have the same problem.

And are there any little icons around the window in the pre-vet forum on IE?

But, I realized that I have to click the back button twice and then it will work. For some reason it only works if I click it twice, but rarely use the back button because I just click on the pre-veterinary link at the top of the threads so that way it shows the most current threads and who has posted since I started reading the thread I was in.

Windows XP pro (it is my company's computer... well actually since I don't work there anymore I guess it is mine now).

And I can click on anyone of them to take me to the respective page. Might be a work around.

Have you tried using another browser as well? Might help. I'm using Firefox myself and love it for it's Adblocking abilities (not sure if SDN has ads though).

I have those links but if you just want to go back to where you just were that doesn't help.

Have not tried another browser and I am just too lazy to try.

And I am talking about the browser window itself.

It is not a huge problem, but I just find it so strange that the problem is only on the pre-vet forum (and not other forums) so my curiousity is aroused.

If I don't solve the problem it is not a big deal but will leave me intellectually disappointed.

I have the same problem using IE

Works just fine with my mac though

I have had no problems, but I use Chrome. IE is super slow and less secure (or used to be), and Chrome is faster than Firefox. Plus, there is no StumbleUpon add-on for Chrome. I usually just open a new tab to look at a thread anyhow.

I just tried out a few pages on IE and had no problems. Do you have the latest version of IE?

Glad I was able to help a little. I do find it weird that is only happens in the pre-vet section. I have actually never tried the back button in the pre-allo forum so I just did and it works perfectly fine with just one click. That is so weird. 😕

Same thing on my computer too...it is odd.
