Hey everyone!
So I'm still trying to figure out what I should do for occupation. (Don't worry, I know! ) Right now I'm in my masters program for kinesiology.
I don't know what to do. I keep thinking cardiac rehab, nutrition, or going for OT or PT. I've done some research on each program. I'm at a point of wanting to do everything in this field. If anyone has any advice that would be great! Anything about education after masters degree and anything else helpful.

Thank you!

If your could specify why you're interested in each, it'd help us give advice.

With both PT and OT you can work in a cardiac rehab setting. Through OT you could help a client with aspects of the nutrition as part of ADLs. So as a OT you could cover both of the areas you mentioned. I might suggest shadowing each of the fields you might enjoy working in to see if they are a good fit and something you would enjoy long term. The healthcare industry offers a plethora of options, my advice would be to explore as many as possible and decide which one you like best. As far as education, OT you need a MSOT /MAOT/ MOT and license to practice. For PT you need a doctorate and license, so that would require morse schooling, but you have a great foundation with your Kines. background. If you have any questions don't hesitate and best of luck!

I like all of them because they reflect the type of person I am. my biggest thing is having a passion for helping people. I had and have family members that have heart diseases and have died from them unexpectedly and want to learn more about that.
I'm also a retired cross country/track athlete which brought me to my interest in sports and PT. learning about the body, its function and how/ which exercises to do for the injuries. (same with OT) wanting to help people recover and working on going back to daily activities is something I want to be apart of. as for nutrition, I eat healthy, and help my parents and family to eat healthy too. I workout 6 days a week and create meal plans for myself everyday.

this is generally why I chose each of them.

thanks for the help! I could see myself in each career. maybe for me now, because I'm finishing up my masters program, I would be choosing based on the length on the programs. Typically how long is the OT program?

Just curious OP, why are you doing a master's in Kinesiology? I have heard people are struggling finding work with a Bachelor's in that field...how much is your master's costing?

At the time I didn't know specifically what I wanted to do so I thought getting my masters would at least help me decide and advance my knowledge. It's 1 year long for about $20,000.

I would say shadow both, because although people often lump them together as therapy the focus of each is very different. An OT masters is anywhere from 2-3 years depending on the school. The first part is classes with lvl 1 fieldwork and then for the last 6 months or so (again depending on the program) you do lvl 2 fieldwork which tends to be more hands on and independent than the lvl 1.
