I read the three chapters of the APhA manual on hypertension, diabetes, and heart failure one time, thinking there would be more than ~5 questions on each topic on the the whole exam. I got slaughtered with cancer and HIV questions on ~75% of the exam. Did I review these topics? Absolutely not, because I was told other people had about 1 or 2 questions on the whole exam about these topics. I've read posts of people studying for 6 months and feeling really good about it. The truth of the matter is it probably takes 6 months to study for an exam like this and feel good about it. I spent a total of ~20 hours studying for the NAPLEX (which is probably an overestimate) and I felt terrible about it after I was done. I was more concerned with relaxing in my free time and working full time as a graduate intern to bring down some mad coin. The reason the NAPLEX is BS is because I got a 128...far higher than I expected and far higher than I feel I deserved. I do feel like I deserve to be licensed though, so I definitely appreciate passing.
