OU Class of 2008

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm an Okie thru and thru....In other words, I'll be there.

jojo88 did you decide on OU?

I spoke w/ Dr.Miller and it doesn't look like I could residency or any type of scholarship...it looks as though I will have to pass OU due to cost...

That is unfortunate. However, you have to do what is best for you and yours. Good luck in school!!

jojo88,

How hard is it to get into OU if you are out of state? I went to their site and it said they took 8-10 out of state last year but the gpa and dat were the same for residents and non-residents. Thanks.

Lance,

My grades are average DAT 18AA, 3.4 GPA, 3.8 Sci GPA...the interview really counts...call them, visit them, let them know who you are...

Lance,

They are shooting for 10 a year now. They increased their class size last year from 54 to 60. With that increase they decided to double the number of non-residents they accept a year. There are two seperate alternate lists. One for res and one for non-res. (I would double check with Dr. Miller to make sure they do have alternate lists for both groups. Last time I checked they were planning on doing that.)

Like jojo88 said and I agree 110%. Make sure they know who you are. Let them know you are very interested in their school (only if you really are interested of course). Call Dr. Miller and ask him some questions about the school or any others you may have. He is the Dean of Student Affairs and heads the admission board. He is very approachable and a great guy. His assistant is Susan. Get in good with her. She can make your life so much easier.

Ask to be put on their mailing list for information. If they know who you are before you apply, then it may increase your chances of getting an interview.

What are your stats thus far?

Good Luck!! Let us know if you have any other questions. I have been researching OU for the last three years and have alot of information to share.

DDSDude,
You know that I will be there!!!! I am packing my bags as quick as I can to get out of AZ and into OK. Jojo88, sorry we will not see you next year, but the party must go on!!! :horns: Later my fellow Okie's...

OU CLASS OF 2008

I moved here from AZ a couple of years ago. Although it is much nicer here in OK than expected, enjoy AZ. The weather, places to eat out, waterskiing, snowskiing, most of your shopping nearby, etc. You will love the school.

Did you happen to attend your interview with your wife? I was in the admissions office at that time and remember a guy interviewing from AZ and his wife came with him.
