OU-COM Summer Scholars 2011

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
first of all man, congrats again. from the mere fact that we're in this program, it means that we basically are halfway to being accepted to ou. we are guaranteed an interview. so if you do well on all the scholars exams, and have an mcat score that meets the minimum requirements for oucom~24 according to the website, ur good to go imo.

also, in the event that you decide in late june when u get your mcat scores, that you'd want to give the mcat another shot, the scholars program will prepare you somewhat for the mcat and you can sign up for a late august retake as a last resort.

my main concern however, is filling out those secondaries...

good points on everything.....Its crazy in the end we all got in. im excited. if you like the rural setting OU is awesome. for me its perfect! the campus is awesome compared to where I currently go lol.

I will PM you with something else.

No "minimum" MCAT score needed. talked to the adcomm they said avg. MCAT between 24-26 for their matriculants. so score around (or above 👍 ) that and you should be golded!!

So in the email for the final info on the program, it said something about things to do to get the interview at the end of the program. One of those things was a completed AACOMAS...can anyone give insight on this? I figure spring grades won't post until end of June..won't be verified until late July...what should be done about that? Also, I'm assuming we print out our LoR's and bring them in with our completed AACOMAS app? anyone have any idea?

Hey noofy:

yes you have to apply through AAcomas in order to be eligible for interview. and no you do not bring a copy of Letters with you, I actually think you are not suppose to see what the letters actually say. What you have to do is complete the application at AACOMAS and your letters are uploaded onto the website. I know at WSU our pre-med advisor actually gets the letters and she uploads them or sends them to the schools which we are applying to. Know that I think of it on AAcomas I actually think you have to send them to the schools.

hope that helped somewhat. I actually am in the same boat as you, because we are on quarters also, so yes grades have to verified. From what my advisor says being that we are applying so early processing should only take a few days to 1 week so we should be all set by the first or second week of July. we just need to make sure we are on our game with getting everything in.

hope that helped somewhat.

yeah thanks man! i would definately bring a copy of your complete aacomas application as well as the LoR's, just in case.
