I'm appllying this fall for 2008 and just wondered what people's thoughts were between the campuses. I love Tulsa as a city more than OKC and my boyfriend is at OSU Med there, but I'm an undergrad right now at OU so OKC is close to all my close friends. It's a really tough call! If anyone knows major differences or deciding factors, let me know!

Pros (from my first year at least)

Oklahoma City
Larger class
Larger city
Dr. Gallucci
Most of your professors are there
More variety of types of site visits

Tulsa
Smaller class
Smaller city
Dr. Payne
No parking fees
Lots of independent pharmacy site visit opportunities

If you at all have a hankerin for Nuclear Pharmacy you'll want to go to the OKC campus, as all the electives and site rotation opportunities are there.

If you are interested in research, Oklahoma City has more and a larger variety of professors doing such, however Tulsa is increasing steadily and Im sure they are not unfamilar with distant professors being your research leader.

In my opinion: I go to OKC campus, and I really would have hated life my first year if I had gone to Tulsa. Most of your professors lecture from OKC, and the video is beamed to Tulsa live feed. So basically in Tulsa, you woke up, put on your dress-code approved clothing and drove to the school to watch TV.

You said your bf is at OSU Med, and depending on how distracting or supportive your relationship is, that can be an important determinant to where you want/need to be.

You could just apply to both sites and let them stick you somewhere luck of the draw. 😀
