Came home from a long day to find the "I regret to inform you we cannot act favorably on your request for admission."

This is the part that I like best: "I appreciate your interest in the UVM and wish you success in your quest for admission to another medical school."

Ouch - we don't like you, we won't tell you why we don't like you, and we sincerely hope you will go and bother some other school because we aren't going to let you in here.

These letters freakin' stink.

Of course, it might be MORE painful if they did meet me and then said, yea, now we really don't want you !

its all good, they hurt less the more you get... ironically. I think Ill get a handful of them tomorrow b/c a lot of you are reporting them these last two days and our mail wasn't delivered b/c of the whole anthrax thing today.

that is true. cause i always like to think if these schools gave me a chance and interviewed me i can win them over....

but if i get rejected post interview...then ill be all...blah

"act favorably"? What kind of crap is that? I hate when people are so polite that they are disceptive or dishonest.

Here's another line that freaked me out. Something something about lots of applicants and few spaces ... "It is necessary for us to make some decisions based on the careful review of the complete application file."

Oh, I see. The problem was in my application file. Thanks for not telling me what it was. Now I can lie in bed at night trying to figure out what you didn't like about me ...
