Hi all, Long time lurker, first time poster.

Florida Resident

I graduated from FAU as a Biology major with a 3.2 gpa, but an extremely strong upward trend. I got straight A's for 4 semesters in a row in all of my upper division electives including Human Morphology and Function 1 &2, immunology, biology of cancer, molecular and cell biology, ecology, genetics, microbiology and biochemistry. I finished off my Bachelors by doing 1 year of Prostate Cancer research with no publications.
I currently attend Barry University's MS Biomedical Sciences program and I have maintained my excellent upward trend with a 4.0 throughout 24 of my credits (out of 34).

I have 300+ hours of shadowing as well.

I recently took my DAT for the first time on April 8th and my scores are as follows:
Bio:22/GC:17/OC:22/PAT:19/RC:26/QR:17/TS:20/AA:21
I know my General Chemistry and QR sections are low, but I am happy with my scores.

These are the schools I intend on applying to:

Nova
Temple
Tufts
BU
Maryland
NYU
UIC
VCU

I would like several more schools to apply to, specifically out of state friendly schools that are friendly to masters programs. Or if you believe one of the schools I have chosen thus far are a waste of my time, I would gladly welcome that information as well.

Thank you in advance

UIC is pretty tough to get into OOS. Out of the 200+ interviewees, I think only 2-4 people are offered. Even then, OOS tuition for UIC is 30K/semester and UIC has 3 semesters/year.

Geez thank you for letting me know. Only reason I even mentioned it is because they came to Barry this year and were extremely interested in more of the students starting to apply there.

About 30 grand.

I think last cycle they only interviewed 19 people? And then accepted like 4. Unless I'm remembering wrong.

Yes, 200+ was the total number of interviewees.
I think I'm thinking of the cycle before that (2015) when they opened up applications for OOS. The year before that (2014) they didn't accept any OOS applications so the 2015 cycle was low.

Yeah they just started accepting OOS. For the numbers, I mean 200+total (IS + OOS) interviewed

Ahhh ok. I wonder how many OOS students were interviewed for the 2016-17 cycle? Regardless yes it's tough to get in there.

How about Maryland? I have heard fairly good things about their OOS acceptance rates.

I got a friend that goes to fau. you get a good vibe there? i went to uf

Yeah I loved the vibes at FAU, but I sometimes wish I went to a better school. Had the opportunity but chose to live close to home.

Any other schools that you can recommend I add to my list??
I can't think of many off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure Midwestern AZ has a good OOS acceptance rate. Just keep searching around and you'll get a good list going.
