Is residency required to work in outpatient pharmacies in hospitals? Aren't they the same as retail pharmacies?

Is residency required to work in outpatient pharmacies in hospitals? Aren't they the same as retail pharmacies?

Usually it's not required, though I know some residency trained pharmacists that ended up being outpatient pharmacists. However, I did recently see an outpatient position that required a residency. Apparently this position also had a bit of inpatient and committee involvement.
