Outright rejection or automatic secondary?

If you meet the minimum requirements do schools usually send you the secondary, or can they outright reject you? (besides the fact if someone has a criminal record or lied on their app).

The reason I ask is I got a secondary from UCSF with a cum/sci 3.2/3.02 and a DAT of AA/TS /PAT 19/21/18 and I am from Florida. I thought I was gonna get outright rejected from there. At this point have they looked at my extracurriculars? LOR? or Personal statement?

I just don't want to get to excited hahaha

Don't jump the gun just yet. Everyone who applies will get a secondary application. Only after that application is submitted, will your application be reviewed for possible interview invitation.

that may be the case for UCSF, but loma linda will reject you w/o a secondary if they don't like you. same with UF (since OP is a FL resident). nova however will give anyone a secondary along with the damn fee. lots of schools just hand out secondaries.....a few will only give them to people they are serious about.
