Outstanding Courses

My question is if any of you know approximately how many outstanding courses you are allowed to have when applying to vet school. I mean if I applied next year and I had two that I was going to finish before vet school but didn't have a grade yet would I be able to apply to vet school? Sorry if this sounds confusing, I'm known to do that sometimes LOL!

Most don't care about how many you have to finish when you apply as long as they are completed the spring semester or quarter before you matriculate into vet school, but some like western want you to have a certain percent done. Florida actually even gives you summer before you begin vet school to complete some courses, but I am not sure if this is any course or just the animal nutrition and animal science courses.
I hope this helped, but unfortunately its another of those "check with the school your applying to" answers that we all love.

I had 1-3 outstanding for most of the schools I applied to and they didn't seem to care much as long as I would have them done and I had a plan for how to do that by the spring semester. Some schools like Davis, UTenn and FL said that I could even have the summer to finish them (which was nice because then I could take only the one I ended up needing instead of the 5 or 6 (bc they didn't all overlap requirements). On the other hand, Ohio wanted me to have the 2 I still needed done in the Spring (which I couldn't fit in my schedule/didn't want to overload because I was working too) so I had to withdraw my application and I couldn't apply to Western because there were too many pre-reqs I didn't have.

So really, it totally depends on the school, but it doesn't usually seem to be a problem esp if you are taking them in the spring.

I think a couple of schools only want you to have, say, one course left to finish in the spring. There's gonna be a variety of situations.

Im pretty sure it says in the vet school descriptions on the AAVMC website what each college requires. For example, this is what OSU says above their pre-reqs list

Applicants must complete the required pre-veterinary
medical courses listed below at a fully accredited college or
university with a grade of C or better by the end of the fall
term of the application year in order to be interviewed. (We
will accept one prerequisite to be completed in Winter
Quarter/ Spring Semester.)
