OUWB vs FIU

Hi everyone! I know it is still quite early but I am really excited and want to learn more about these two schools that I will have to decide between.

OUWB
Pros

• faculty and students seem to really care, which was something that surprised me in a good way during interview day
• the facilities are newer and the campus is honestly beautiful
• it is cheaper

Cons

• im from CA so moving to michigan is going to be a huge weather difference that i am unsure if i am ready for

FIU
Pros

• diversity is huge and really important to me
• the NHelp program sounds really cool, especially because i want to work with underserved medicine

Cons

• i heard the traffic sucks over there :/
• my friend who attends also said the facilities are old and what not

Summary: I am overall grateful to have been accepted to these schools and I know they will encourage my growth as a physician. i am just a little conflicted and was hoping you guys could provide more insight about the schools to help with my decision

One thing to mull over is MSAR shows FIU at nearly 70k OOS tuition. Oakland is 56k OOS. So OUWB will save you a significant chunk of change. I know you mentioned this but 56k in costs is significant, especially if otherwise you're really stuck between the two.

as an FIU student, OUWB has more for less for an OOS such as yourself
