I just read my submitted amcas and found out that I didn't notice that last few words are cut off due to max number of characters...

"... for the health and wellbeing of the patients who have entrusted their lives to me."
and the part "their lives to me" is cut off. Give up for this cycle? 🙁((((

You're screwed now OP. How will they know how that sentence ends?

who have entrusted their...hot dogs to the hot dog man?
who have entrusted their...souls to satan?
who have entrusted their...genitals to my genitals?

Hey, who knows? It may even become an interesting question in interviews 👍

In all seriousness, OP will receive many rejections for this.

I mean, if you can't even follow simple character limits how do you plan on becoming the best doctor Cox that ever lived?

I'm just kidding.

Or am I?

so bizarre but hilarious

Looks like they still haven't fixed that glitch. That happened to people when I applied in 2011.

Is it just me, or has there been an uptick in AMCAS neuroticism in the last couple days?

Thank you for the responses but I am still not clear how much effect it will have on my application.

I'm sort of curious how a personal statement that is supposed to show how unique you are as an applicant ended in such a cliché fashion.

I don't know, maybe I'm being harsh.

But, hey, what's done is done. And you can't fix it now, so don't exhaust yourself worrying about it.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your app is headed for the rejection pile. Why should any adcom member bother to read the rest of your app after that mistake? There are 20,000+ applicants out there who haven't made that stupid error, so why should you be picked?

If I were in your shoes, I start my app to St. George's in Grenada. They have an excellent match rate, and you'll study medicine on the beach!

Jk

I'm guessing most adcom members skim these PSs, and most likely won't even notice this. Stop worrying. 🙂
