I wore an overcoat to my winter interviews last year. In places like Washington it definitely kept me warm.

its a suit! should keep you plenty warm until it gets down to 32. Unless your from miami

same here. an overcoat and a nice pair of gloves (leather, cashmere lined) are a good investment for the future.

I picked up a nice wool/cashmere Ralph Lauren overcoat from Dillards for something like $110, originally $350. Look for the sales.

You can't wear a ski jacket with a suit.

I decided to not even buy a suit and just get a wool vest to go with my shirt/slacks and get a wool coat (was going to buy one anyway). Then if I happen to have interviews in April or some other time when it's warm, I'd just wear my vest and no coat.

I was lucky that back in college, I bought an overcoat that seems to match the color of my interview suit. Whether it'll be comfortable wearing them together, however, is an entirely different matter.

Same here. I picked up a $400 Ralph Lauren overcoat for $99 bucks a Men's Warehouse.

The interview season extends well into winter. Many people find themselves being taken on campus tours through the snow before interview season is up. An overcoat or jacket that isn't bright colors and covered with lift tickets is a must.

Walking around Temple in a snow storm (in March) with shoes on with no grip was NOT fun. At least I'm a cold-a-phobe and had a nice really warm coat.

Woah, so true! I didn't even think about it. I don't have any nice boots, so I'm gonna have to go buy a pair...which is a big (pun intended) problem because my calves are like freaking 18 inches.👎
