The only "live" review course they offer in my area is the Kaplan MCAT review. Does anybody happen to know how much overlap there is between the DAT and MCAT Kaplan review courses?

Go to your local favorite book store and compare the Kaplan Blue Book (DAT) to the MCAT book, side by side. You will find that Biology, Gen. Chem, and Org. Chem are all the same, word for word. Sections will vary of course since the tests are quite different. One difference is that MCAT tests for Physics while DAT tests for Perceptual Ability.

The Kaplan material is excellent, but taking the DAT sit-down class was a waste of time for me. The difference between the online material and the class is about $100 or so if I remember correctly. I went to class every Sunday and sat there for three hours each time, and I really didn't learn anything new. In retrospect, I could have worked much more efficiently if I had used that time at the library cranking out more problems. Plus, I would have saved a little bit of money.

Best of luck.

In addition to what the previous poster said, I think it's important to know that the MCAT does not test a few topics that are tested on the DAT. Photosynthesis and plant development/structure are two examples that stick out in my mind, although they might be more. If you have all the right DAT materials and enough practice questions and tests (CBT based of course) then you'll do fine without a live class. Good luck!
