Two of my top choices, Pitt and Northwestern, have overlapping second look weekends. I think NU is April 15-17 and Pitt is April 16-18. Are there a lot of people who only go to part of the second look weekends? I was thinking about maybe going to NU for the 15th-16th and leaving early, then going to Pitt late for the 17th-18th.

These two schools are pretty even in my mind, so I could really use the second looks to reevaluate them, but I don't want to miss anything important. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any suggestions? Thanks.

NU second look weekend is techically done by noon of the 17 so I can imagine you could leave the night before (the 16th) and get the best of both worlds.

I think your idea of spending 2 days at each place is a good one. I personally think 2 days at each school is enough to decide whether you want to be there or not, and to ask all the questions you have. If you think you need more time, you might want to go to the first one a day earlier (before the planned activities for the second look weekend begin), and then stay a day longer at the second one. This of course will be very expensive. Good luck.

You could always withdraw from Pitt and designate your spot to me 😀 .....Seriously though, 2 days at each is good.

feels like most schools have their second look weekend around that time. Rolling schools definetly get the edge on getting people to attend their second look weekend since they ask you to buy airline tickets before non-rolling decisions are out.

do all schools have second look weekends? I guess it doesn't matter if you have only one acceptance but still.

How do you know who does second looks? Do the schools mail invites?

I think it's best to go to the second look weekend at school that you're leaning more towards.

If you like both schools equally, then goto the school that you know less about, whether it's because you don't get to know much about it during interview or didn't have a chance to ask many questions.
