Overnight call

In preparing my rank list, Im wondering what information you guys gave regarding overnight call. In specific, Im wondering about in-house overnight call. To my knowledge, there are only 3 programs with in house overnight calls: Downstate, NYEEI, and Wills eye. Are there any other programs I'm missing?

Also, does anyone have experience or information regarding overnight calls at other programs?

UAB has in-house call. I'm sure there are some others, but it's been a while since I was on the interview trail.

U Pitt has in house call

Realize it may be an advantage to have overnight call in house. ACGME restrictions on work hours don't apply to call from home. You can stay up all night and still have to work a full day the next day. If you have a busy night in-house call you are guaranteed the next day as a post-call day.

Not sure this should be a factor at all really. Solid program is a solid program regardless of call type. I remember how important it was to me when I was applying and now that I look back on it, this should be low on your priorities list. 3 years goes quickly and a busy call night will teach you so much that it will be appreciated when you are all done. Don't let this sway you especially if everything else about the program is positive.
