Is this kinda unusual or do most of the top-ranked schools in the states do this? hmm...I'm talking about strictly pass/fail, no class ranks reported whatsoever. Any ideas??

It's very rare to have P/F all four years.

Yeah, the only schools I know of that do this are Stanford and Cleveland Clinic. There are other schools like Yale that are P/F but I think they still rank.

Hey Q,

Not meaning to hijack thread, but have you decided where your going in the fall? I have been away for awhile.

to my knowledge here in Canada most, if not all, med schools are P/F all 4 years with no ranking of students at all. So, I'm just wondering if this's going to hurt those of us trying to match into a competitive residency position in the US

Hmm, I didn't know that; I didn't apply to any Canadian schools. As far as getting into an American residency, well, it doesn't seem to hurt the Stanford people any that they don't have grades. 😉 But probably your board scores are going to be super important because that's the only number they have to go on.

CCEMPT, I PMd you.
