Hello all,
Looking for some candid and honest advice. I am an MS1 that failed a med school exam. Although my school is pass fail and I passed my first block, this exam fail will show up as a Fail/Pass on my transcript for the block grade as I retake and pass. While this fail was because of various reasons both related to my personal and med school life, I am very set on applying neurosurgery and am passionate about the field. I have been getting started on research early and am confident I can pass exams here on out. I wanted to get candid feedback from people that have been in similar situations/ have seen this happen and what your thoughts are regarding my future chances of landing a neurosurgery residency spot (assuming I have an otherwise competitve application with research, clinical grades, and STEP)
