Hey guys,
I'm an undergrad working on a paper about the relationship between periodontal disease and atherosclerosis. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find much information about the pathology of P. gingivalis, which I'm centering my paper about. I've found some stuff about responses it elicits from host cells, but most sources state that no one really knows how the bacterium does it. Since the paper is for microbiology, that's kind of important to me.
If anyone knows where I might be able to find more information the inner workings of P. gingivalis, please let me know.

Thanks : )
I had actually seen that one already, but I guess I was greedy and wanted something more. I found a few other articles, though, after searching the depths of Pub Med. So I guess I'm good for now. Thank goodness for review articles ^_^

Ovid or Pubmed...I did a paper on this as an undergrad, used over 96 sources...they are out there

What exactly are you looking for?

To the best of my knowledge the mechanism has not been quite worked out "yet". However there are some pretty valid ideas floating around out there.

If you are just looking to write a basic review on current literature a really good starting point for you might be a paper written by I.W. Fong called THE ROLE OF INFECTION IN ATHEROSCLEROSIS (Nova Sciences Publishers Inc.)

This paper will give you (as you could imagine from the title) a decent overview of many bacteria associated with CAD as well as PG.

If you are looking for specifics search for FOAM cells and PG and CAD
