Hope this is the correct forum to place this question in.

I've lurked a bit on this website and have seen there are some very bright, ambitious, and some very accomplished people that are active on this site. I've also seen there--apparently--is some tension between doctors of medicine and physician assistants.

So, if my question seems stupid or irks some of the accomplished physicians on here I'll beg your forgiveness and tolerance ahead of time.

I laid severely injured in a hospital before and experienced the team work of people in the health and medical fields helping people to recover and easing their suffering. Surgeons, nurses, even nurses aids and volunteers. This moved me.

Anyways... I was very curious. I know there are physician scientists. But I have not been able to find out online if there exists any PA scientists. So, would anyone know if there are any PA's with PhD's in the life or physical sciences? If they exists do they the function in the workforce or research field or in pharmaceutical companies similar to physician scientists? Or basically, maybe a better way of putting it, is there any demand for them?

Don't bother the mods. They'll move this thread for you so don't worry.

Yes, there are PA scientists, researchers and professors of medicine. There are a few PA/PhD, PA/MS and PA/MPH dual degree programs that those interested in research can take advantage of.

We haven't had a mod in here in a long time.

Google "physician assistant research". There ya go.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for putting this on the wrong forum on this board.
