Is anyone getting paid to be on call schedule?
I was overhearing a GI MD complain that it was 'peanuts' at another hospital and not worth his time.
It was a real life 'wait... you guys are getting paid?' meme
For whatever reason DPMs are not paid for call schedule at hospitals in my area. My understanding is that we reserve the right to refuse a consult if that is the case but that's kind of the feeder for our clinic/ building relationships with hospitalist etc.
Anyone getting paid for call? Maybe this is just a phenomenon unique to my local area.
