I'm wondering if anyone knows how to best prepare for a hospice & palliative medicine fellowship? Do you go through a FM or IM residency? What about neurology or PM&R?

Seems like you could go through any of these routes. I'm curious if there would be an advantage in doing FP over IM in preparing for palliative medicine training?

I would really appreciate any advise.

Thanks.

ive never heard of any other specialty aside from FM or IM. the difference among the two being pediatric exposure and if you would want to deal with terminal children. if your going to ultimately do hospice/palliation why on earth put yourself through internal medicine?
