I just scheduled my interview with TUCOM-NV. They informed me that the interview will be performed in a panel format. For example 4-5 applicants will be interviewed at the same time in front of a number of faculty members. I wasn't expecting an interview in this format. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't be too worried...as everyone says, just relax and be yourself. Make sure you know about Osteopathic Medicine and how it is different/similar to allopathic medicine, why you chose to apply, and what interests you about it in case you have one of the OMM faculty gurus on your panel! They are all really nice and extremely enthusiastic about OMM so be prepared.

I really liked the group interview in spite of what many people say about it. It was actually an enjoyable experience to see what others had to say when answering questions. Additionally, I think they like to see how you react and compose yourself in front of others when asked questions. I know that Midwestern does a panel of interviewers with one candidate and Northwestern University (allopathic) does the panel interview like TUCOM. The interview is all that you make it, so let it be fun. :luck:

The interview at Mare Island was a cinch. Just know your application, and read the DO's by Gevitz so that you have a good background knowledge of Osteopathic Medicine. I guarantee you, there will be at least one interviewer that will know your application better than you do, so be prepared to defend and/or discuss ANYTHING that you wrote. You should know your personal statements BY HEART! If you can handle this, your interview will be a breeze. The people in the room with me that didn't know their file were not well accepted by the interviewers.

Good luck
